Shipping Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
1. Where we ship from
All orders leave from our shop in Lipari, Aeolian Islands, in the province of Messina (Sicily). We ship by ferry to the port of Milazzo and from there through our partner couriers across Italy and the European Union.
2. Shipping areas
We ship to the following areas:
- Italy (including the smaller islands and hard-to-reach areas)
- European Union (all 27 member states)
For shipments to destinations not listed, email info@botteghino.eu for a case-by-case assessment before you complete your order.
3. Delivery times
Delivery times start from the moment the order is handed to the courier, normally within 1-2 business days of order confirmation.
- Mainland Italy: 3-5 business days
- Sicily, Sardinia and the smaller islands: 4-7 business days
- European Union: 5-10 business days
Because we ship from an island, delivery times can be affected by outside factors such as sea weather conditions, transport strikes, or local holidays. We'll do our best to warn you of any delays by email in advance.
Under Article 61 of the Consumer Code, unless otherwise agreed, delivery takes place in any case within 30 days of the conclusion of the contract.
4. Shipping costs
Shipping costs depend on the destination and are always shown at checkout before you confirm your order.
- Standard shipping Italy: €9.00 for orders up to €49.99
- Free shipping Italy: for orders of €50 and over
- Free in-store pickup (usually ready within an hour): Via Vittorio Emanuele 33/35, Lipari, during opening hours (Monday-Saturday 9:30-13:00 and 16:30-20:30). We'll let you know when your order is ready.
- Shipping European Union: rates vary by destination country, calculated at checkout
No hidden costs: the total amount (product + shipping + VAT) is always clearly shown before payment.
5. Couriers we use
We rely on national and international couriers to ensure reliable, tracked deliveries:
- Poste Italiane (Crono, Paccocelere)
- BRT
- Any other partner couriers indicated at the time of shipping
The courier is chosen by the Seller based on the destination and the type of product, unless otherwise agreed with the Customer.
6. Order tracking
Once the package is handed to the courier, you'll receive an email containing:
- Tracking number;
- Direct link to the courier's website to follow the shipment;
- Estimated delivery times.
You can also check the status of your order in the "My orders" area of your account on the Site.
7. Delivery and checking the package
When your package is delivered, we recommend that you:
- Check that the packaging is intact in the presence of the courier;
- Check that the number of packages matches the delivery note;
- If the package is visibly damaged or tampered with, accept the delivery subject to inspection, report it to the courier, and note it on the delivery receipt;
- Email us at info@botteghino.eu, with photos of the package and its contents, to report any issues.
We ask you to report any transport damage to us as soon as possible: you won't lose your rights either way.
8. Failed delivery and held packages
If the recipient is absent at the first delivery attempt, the courier normally leaves a notice and tries a second delivery or holds the package at a pickup point.
If the package is not collected within the period set by the courier, it is sent back to the sender. In that case:
- Return shipping costs are borne by the Customer;
- We can arrange a new shipment (with additional costs) or refund the product, minus the outbound and return shipping costs;
- Please contact us promptly at info@botteghino.eu to find the best solution.
9. Delivery addresses
The Customer is responsible for providing a correct, complete, and reachable delivery address. Incomplete, incorrect, or undeliverable addresses (e.g., general delivery, unaccepted PO boxes, nonexistent addresses) can cause delays or make delivery impossible, with any additional costs borne by the Customer.
Once the package has been handed to the courier, changing the address is not always possible: please check your details carefully before confirming your order.
10. Force majeure
Because we ship from a small island, certain force majeure events can affect shipping times:
- Suspension of sea connections due to bad weather;
- Strikes by port staff or couriers;
- Local or national holidays;
- Extraordinary events not attributable to the Seller.
In these cases we are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our control, but we'll inform you promptly by email and do our best to minimize the impact.
11. Returns
For return procedures, costs, and refund times, see the Returns and Refunds Policy. All returns ship free with a prepaid label provided by the Seller.
